Based in Cape Town, South Africa, IPF Antarctica is a local antenna for the International Polar Foundation to support its missions in Antarctica.

IPF Antarctica focuses on supporting the logistics of the BELARE campaigns, since Cape Town is used as the hub to Queen Laud Land, the region of Antarctica where the Princess Elisabeth Antarctica Station is located.

The first 14 members of the BELgian Antarctic Research Expedition (BELARE) are off to a strong start opening and preparing the station for the arrival of scientists in the coming days.
