Members of the Royal Family inaugurated the "Science & Culture at the Palace" exhibition today, together with Marc Verwilghen, Minister of the Belgian Science Policy. On this occasion, Alain Hubert presented a model of the new Belgian Antarctic Station to the 6 years old Princess Elisabeth, daughter of Prince Philippe and Princess Mathilde, after whom the station was named.

This exhibition, set up by the Belgian Science Policy, the King Baudouin Foundation, Technopolis and the IPF for the traditional summer opening of the Royal Palace, is accessible to the public from the 25th of July to the 16th of Septembre.

Through this exhibition, visitors can discover:

  • The Belgian science Policy and its Interuniversity Attraction Poles that present the work of 250 Belgian researchers and of their 75 European Partners
  • The cultural heritage of Belgium through pieces from the Cultural Heritage Items Fund of the King Baudouin Foundation
  • Science and technologies through experiments devised by Technopolis
